Remaining silent about the destruction of nature is an endorsement of that destruction.

I spent some time yesterday teaching girl scouts how to plant wildflowers.  This educational event was done in conjunction with LBJ Wildflower Center in Austin.  We had a turn out of about 200 young ones which we split into two smaller groups.  One group went to an off site location and planted wildflower seed, while the other group saw a brief slide show on the different flowers that we were planted and then went on a short nature hike.  Once each group had completed their activities, we then switched the groups so that all the girls got to enjoy the full experience.   And of course it was a tons of fun and we plan to hold the event again in the spring.

Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children.
